In the middle of 2024 an international investment fund from the United Arab Emirates acquired a controlling stake in the Peruvian airline Movil Air S.A.C., marking the beginning of significant transformations within the company. The airline’s history dates back to the year 2000 when it initially offered sightseeing flights over the Nazca Desert geoglyphs. Over time, the company’s fleet included Cessna-207A and Cessna-208 Grand Caravan aircraft.
The airline operates under an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in accordance with RAP-135 regulations, issued by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics of Peru Flights are conducted from the airports of the city of Nazca.
Since July 2024 the company has been undergoing a rebranding process. The new name of the airline is Meteorito Aerolíneas S.A.C.. In August 2024 a new CEO joined the team — an experienced pilot, a former military general — along with several other highly qualified aviation executives, strengthening the company’s management team.
In October 2024 Meteorito Aerolíneas opened a new office in a prestigious district of Lima, the capital of Peru.
For 2025 the company has ambitious development plans, including certification under RAP-121 regulations and the launch of operations with medium- and wide-body aircraft such as the Airbus A320, Boeing 737, Airbus A330, and Boeing 777 on domestic and international routes.
